What Does it Mean to be Chosen by God?
Chosen. Have you ever stopped to truly think about that word and its meaning? God tells us that we are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. His very own! That alone is something to be excited about. When you define chosen, you get the definition: one who is the object of choice or of divine favor, selected or marked for favor or special privilege. So we see that being chosen by God is something very special and selective. God doesn’t make mistakes so if he has chosen you for a task he knows you are the best one for the job and he will give you all that you need to succeed.
Being Chosen in my Journey
So I finished up my final round of chemotherapy in March of 2024. Oh, I forgot to mention that during that time I lost all my hair. No eyebrows, no hair on my head, arms, nothing. This was such a big hit to my self-esteem. (If you’re a woman reading this then you can imagine my pain here. I mean this is more than just a simple haircut) However, on the bright side I didn’t have to worry about shaving my legs for a while! But let me turn your attention back to the one who got me through 12 rounds of chemo. Praise God!!! He deserves all the praise!!! He is so faithful! One lesson I learned during all of this is that we are chosen by God to do great things. If he hasn’t called you home he wants you here on earth for a purpose.
Have you ever really thought about that? The creator of the whole world chose you and wants you here. This made all the difference for me. A complete game changer in how I looked at myself during this journey. This is what I clung to. All the times that I felt alone. All the times that I wished I had someone constantly by my side (and don’t get me wrong I had support. So much of it ) but to have that one person to go through every visit of chemo with me…well that person was God for me. So let me encourage you today to cling to what is good. To take joy in knowing that God has chosen you for purpose.
